Wahneta D. Shaw

Wahneta Delores Shaw, 89 of Centralia passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Centralia Manor in Centralia.Wahneta was born September 19, 1923 in Centralia, daughter of Floid Heyduck and Hazel (Mathis) Heyduck. She married Robert Ramey on August 8, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1958. She also married Wilson Hopkins, Jr. on October 8, 1960 and they later divorced and he preceded her in death in May 2013. She then married Paul Wendal Shaw on July 10, 1971 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Centralia and he survives in Centralia.In addition to her husband Paul of 42 years, she is also survived by a son, Mark Ramey and wife Deb of Noblesville, Indiana; three daughters: April Ramey of Centreville, Virginia, Liz Hopkins of Centralia and Heidi Henke and husband David of O’Fallon, Missouri; a step-daughter, Paula Warren of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; twelve grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; two brothers: Charles Heyduck and wife Marjorie and William Heyduck and wife Mary; a sister, Penny Geary; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers: Maurice Heyduck and H. Dean Heyduck and a step daughter, Deanna Kennedy.Wahneta graduated from Centralia Township High School in the Class of 1941. During her early part of life, she was a U.S. Navy spouse and she lived at multiple Navy bases. She worked at the Douglas Aircraft in Chicago from 1942 – 1945 and she also was the Realtor and Manager of Rental Property for the Don Geary Agency in Centralia from 1965 to 1985. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Centralia, Booster and Young Adults Sunday School Classes, Christian Women’s Fellowship Group 5, BPW and Bridge Clubs. She enjoyed her knitting group, water aerobics and was an avid supporter of the Centralia Orphans and Annies Athletics. Most of all Wahneta loved spending time with her family and friends.Funeral Services for Wahneta Shaw will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Christian Church Disciples of Chirst in Centralia with Rev. Thomas Henegar officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and also Friday Morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ or to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and will be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, which is assisting the Wahneta Shaw Family with arrangements.
