Kent William Reuben Niermann, 86, of Centralia, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. He was born June 4, 1934 in Hoyleton, the son of Henry Niermann and Amanda (Westerfeld) Niermann. He married Barbara Brand on July 11, 1954 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2017. Kent is survived by his three sons: Stephen Niermann and wife Rebekah of Carrollton, Texas, Kam Niermann and wife Cheri of Centralia and Craig Niermann and wife Cynthia of Johnson City, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren: Jared Niermann and wife Morgan of Austin, Texas, Amanda Rodriguez and husband Nicholas of Westminster, Colorado, David Niermann and wife Alejandra of Melissa, Texas, Scott Niermann and wife Laura of Lenoir City, Tennessee, Tim Niermann and wife Lauren of Centralia, Tyler Niermann and wife Chelsie of Maryville, Illinois, Matthew Niermann and wife Sarah of High Ridge, Missouri, J.T. (Trey) Niermann of Centralia, Samuel (Treven) Niermann of Centralia, and Candace Smith and husband Noah of Johnson City, Tennessee; ten great-grandchildren: Emma Niermann, Amelia Niermann, Joshua Niermann, Olivia Niermann, Isaac Niermann, Hannah Niermann, Emmett Niermann, and Easton Niermann, Noak Rodriguez; two sisters: Jean Harder of Wentzville, Missouri and Marilyn Owens of Alpharetta, Georgia; a sister-in-law: Connie Lacquement and husband Hubert of Greenville, South Carolina; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Amanda Niermann, wife: Barbara Niermann, a great-granddaughter: Grace Ann Niermann, twin sisters Dorris and Florris that passed after birth, two sisters: Lucille Stevenson and Elsie Pries, and two brothers: LeRoy Niermann and Bob Niermann. Kent served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a salesman in his younger years, was the previous owner of a feed and farm supply business, and later formed the Feed Bin and Garden Center in Centralia where he worked for 26 years. He was a member of the St. Peter UCC in Centralia. Kent enjoyed landscaping and gardening, and tending to his cats. He enjoyed retail sales and interacting with people. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. A Private Family Graveside will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia at a later date.
