Joan Meyer

Joan E. Meyer, 93 of Centralia, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. Born May 24, 1928 in Centralia, she was the daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth F. Gott and they preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother Thomas R. Gott. She united in marriage with Donald L. "Sparky" Meyer and they recently celebrated 74 years of marriage. A homemaker, she enjoyed traveling with her husband in later years, and golfing with friends. She will be remembered, as well as Sparky, as the operators of the Grand Roller Rink in Centralia. Survivors include her husband Donald, along with her son Michael D. Meyer and wife Tina Chitwood, and daughter Shelley Claar all of Centralia. Also one grandson, Chad Claar also of Centralia. Also left to mourn her passing is her sister-in-law Margaret Cox of Centralia and two nieces. Private funeral services will take place at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City. There will be no public visitation or service.
