Hershel "Junior" Dwight Jones, Jr.

Hershel “Junior” Dwight Jones, Jr. of Centralia, IL, passed away peacefully with his Daughter and Son by his side on May 16, 2022 at the age of 79. Junior was born May 7th, 1943 to Hershel “Dwight” Jones, Sr. and Elsie Anna (Torricelli) Jones. He married Shirley Ann (Orric) Jones on June 19th, 1965. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Shirley, he is also survived by his daughter: Kristina Lorenzini (Tim), son: Doug Jones (Michelle), Grandchildren: Bethany Lorenzini, Tyler Lorenzini, Baylea Jones, Kindyl Jones and Tucker Jones, sister: Ann Romero, a nephew: Greg Romero (Veronica), a niece: Kim Romero, and a great-nephew: Sebastian Romero. Junior was preceded in death by his parents: H. "Dwight" Jones, Sr. and Elsie Jones and two sons: Gregory S. Jones and Anthony G. Jones. Junior worked as a Parts Salesman for many years. He was an avid Centralia Orphans Fan and would attend every home basketball game. He also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Junior played golf, bowled and also enjoyed fishing. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia with Pastor Benton Fitzjerrells officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and St. Judes Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Jones Family.
