Gloria Jean Hankins, 75, of Kinmundy, Illinois passed away July 13, 2022 at her home in Omega. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Sutherland - Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Shawn Woodward officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy, IL. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am until the service hour at the Sutherland - Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Born December 1, 1946 in Decatur, IL, she was the daughter of Thomas H. and Bonnie M. (Stone) Askew. On October 15, 1965 at Booty, IL, she married Thomas Junior Hankins who preceded her in death October 23, 2018. Survivors include her children, Weslie (Tammy) Hankins of Mt. Zion, IL, Lyle (Sherry Perez) Hankins of Kinmundy, IL, and Nikki Arlene (Steve) Durbin of Taylorville, IL. Also grandchildren Rebekah, Brittany (LaMont), Robert (wife Danielle), Bradley, Keely (Christian), Kyndra, Chandler, Brianne Ingran and Cayden, and great grandchildren Caleb, Carleigh, Chloe and Malachi. She is also survived by her brother Jody Askew of Decatur, IL and sister Cheryl Mize of Taylorville, IL. In addition to her husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Bryce Hankins and brother, Thomas Askew.
