Edith Criley, 80, of Centralia, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Cedarhurst in Breese. She was born October 31, 1940 in Central City, the daughter of Chauncey Miller and Ivah (McLain) Miller. She married David Criley on March 18, 1961 and he survives in Centralia. In addition to her husband of 59 years, David Criley of Centralia, she is also survived by her daughter: Sharilyn Muench and husband Todd of Hoffman; three step grandchildren: Bobby Muench and wife Kasey of Anchorage, Alaska, Grace Muench of St. Louis, Missouri, and Johnathan Gagne and wife Mary of Leavenworth, Kansas; two step great-grandchildren: Emma and Beau Muench both of Alaska; also surviving are her two sisters: Marilyn and late Raymond Saddler of Sandoval and Joyce Schaubert of Spring Hill, Tennessee; nephews: Ken Saddler and wife Sonia of Sandoval, Ron Criley and wife Betty of Marine, Illinois, and Fred Ellis wife Anne of Austin Texas; a niece-in-law: Pat Criley of Glen Carbon, Illinois; a niece: Carol Leo and husband Constanty of Spring Hill, Tennessee; five great-nieces: Christonia Saddler of Sandoval, Shannon Smith of Lebanon, Tennessee, Kris Kimmick of St. Jacob, Illinois,; great-nephews: Shane Smith of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Devon Criley and wife Laurie of Marine, Illinois, Aaron Criley and wife Erin of Marine, Illinois, Jeff Criley and wife Bonnie of Marine, Illinois, and Brad Criley of Opdyke, Illinois ; great-great-nieces: Stephanie Smith, Kelcie Criley, Ashley Criley, Abby Criley, Lila Ellis and Hallie; great great Nephews: Alex Ellis, Eli Criley, Benny, Wyatt Criley, and Ethan Criley ; and her four legged companion: Padgett. Edith was preceded in death by her parents: Chauncey and Ivah Miller, a nephew: Garry Criley, and an infant sister. Edith had her own Bookkeeping and tax service in her own home for 40 years. She also worked at Walmart in Centralia for 20 years. Edith enjoyed the holidays with family (especially Halloween!) and was a gardener enjoying her flowers, especially carnations, and she was a great collector of all things small and large. Funeral Services for Edith Criley will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia with Pastor Steve Fox officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hillcrest Lakeside Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Friday at the chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of service, due to the health guidelines everyone is required to wear a mask and social distance. Edith was an avid animal lover and, in her honor, memorial donations to be made to the Centralia Humane Society and the Clinton County Humane Society and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Criley Family.
