Debra A. Benjamin

September 28, 1955 - June 1, 2022

Debra Benjamin, 66, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. She was born September 28, 1955 in Centralia, the daughter of Andrew "Buddy" Foutch and Shirley (Walton) Foutch. She married Franklin "Tony" Flanagan in 1973 and they later divorced. He continued to be Debra’s close friend and her caregiver prior to her passing. Debra married Gary Benjamin in 2006, they later divorced and he preceded her in death in April of 2021. Debra is survived by her daughter: Makyla “Kyla” Hargrave and partner Jordan Burkett of Salem; granddaughter: Kaydence Hargrave of Terre Haute, Indiana; a brother: Steve Foutch and wife Chele of Centralia; two nephews: Stevie Foutch and wife Kathleen of Richview and Dustin Foutch and wife April of Aviston; an uncle: David Foutch and wife DeeAnn of Centralia; and several cousins and great nieces and nephews. Debra was preceded in death by her parents: Buddy and Shirley Foutch, daughter: Lisa Flanagan, and son: JR Flanagan. Debra worked at Warren G. Murray Center for 35 years and retired in 2015. She enjoyed making diamond jewel paintings and collecting crystals. Debra was an avid reader and loved sitting out at the point to read for hours. She cherished the time she spent with her daughter and celebrating her accomplishments. She was loved by many family members and friends. Per Debra's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held. The family intends to celebrate Debra’s life privately and details will be released at a later date.
