Carol Lynn Houser (Voss), 73 of Centralia passed away January 14, 2022 at 3:26PM at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia surrounded by her family. Carol was born September 12, 1948 in Highland, IL to Donald W. Voss and Alta Faye Voss (Hagnauer). Carol married Kim Allen Houser on June 16, 1989 and he survives in Centralia. Carol is also survived by daughters Lynn Stricklin and husband Greg of Greenville, IL, Jennifer Hobson and husband Sean of Highland, IL and Christina Hensley and husband Jason of Galena, IL. Grandchildren Tiffani Brake and significant other Daniel Davis, Nathan Brake and significant other Natalie Hardy, Griffin Brake and wife Valerie, Claudia Owens, Madelyn Owens, Meredith Owens, Claire Amos, Lily Boyd, Owen Albers, Miles Wheetley, Isabelle Wheetley and one great grandson Ryker. Nieces and Nephews include DeVonne Voss-Starr, Mandi Jo McCabe and husband Samuel, Devin Starr, Darrin W. Voss and wife JoAnn, Darrin J. Voss, Jacqueline Voss, Gregg Campbell, Susette Shingleton, Rick Campbell and wife Dawn, Lacy Lonero and Patrick Bielong. Carol was preceded in death by both parents, brother Don W. Voss and sister-in-law Carolyn Voss. Carol was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She was a person of a large family and many friends, and if you were her friend, you were her family. She was a long-time member of the Freedom Riders of Abate IL. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, and especially her beloved dog Jack. She was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services for Carol Houser will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Terry Brake officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home and also Friday morning from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
