Virginia "Jenny" Shedelbower

Virginia “Jenny” Shedelbower, 86 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Centralia Manor. She was born February 5, 1929 in Centralia, daughter of Reed Lee and Lilian (Mathus) Lee. She married Don Shedelbower in November of 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1973. She is survived by two sons: Michael Shedelbower and wife Kathy of Centralia and Joseph Shedelbower of Centralia; a daughter, Jean Anne Wisley and husband Allan of Centralia; four grandchildren: Brian Shedelbower and wife Jamie of Shiloh, Hilary Chapman and husband Travis of Centralia, Jenna Hart and husband Michael of Woodlan, and Taylor Shedelbower of St. Louis, Mo.; four great-grandchildren: Peyton and John Hart and Pyper and Saylor Chapman all of Centralia; three sister-in-laws: Penny Webster of Belleville, Joan Hails of Daphne, Alabama, and Mary Louise Gore of Sandoval; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Lloyd Lee. Jenny was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Centralia. She helped at the church with delivering flowers to the hospital, nursing homes and member’s homes. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia as an Office Manager. Jenny enjoyed helping with her Centralia Township High School Class of 1947 reunions and activities. She volunteered as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army and assisted with Meals on Wheels. Jenny enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching Orphan ball games and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Funeral Services for Virginia “Jenny” Shedelbower will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Allan Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Donor’s Choice and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
