Margie Mae Mulvaney

Margie Mae Mulvaney was born on February 8, 1927 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Clarence H. and Louise (Duncan) Petrea. Margie age 93 of Salem (formerly from Iuka), passed away at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving children on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Margie was an active member of Iuka United Methodist Church in Iuka serving at various times as a Sunday School Teacher, MYF Leader, and Sunday School Treasurer. Margie worked at Iuka Grade School as a cook, owner of Mulvaney’s Variety Store, which later became the Sew-So Shop, served as Treasurer for the Village of Iuka for 31 years while being a loving home-maker, mother, and grandmother. She loved to read and crochet and especially enjoyed activates with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Private Services will be held at Iuka United Methodist Church in Iuka at a later date with burial to follow at the Iuka Cemetery. Memorials can be made in her honor to the Manor at Salem Woods, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Leukemia Center, or Shriners Hospital at Rankins Sutherland Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements. (Barney) Mulvaney on May 1, 1946 in Salem at Grace Methodist Church, he preceded her in death on April 21, 1993. In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her father Clarence H. Petrea and mother Martha Louise (Duncan) Petrea; brothers: Lloyd Petrea, Earl Petrea, Robert (Bob) Petrea, and Gary Petrea. Loving family memebers: Brother in Law Bill Siever, and daughter in law Melinda Mulvaney. She is survived by her children Jim Mulvaney of Crossville, TN; Janet Bass and husband Wayne of Iuka, Ron Mulvaney and wife Donna of Salem. Grandchildren: Andy Bass and wife Nicole of St Peters, MO., Melissa Mulvaney Keller and husband Joe of Roswell, GA, Greg Bass and wife Trisha of Centralia, IL, and Tyson Mulvaney and wife Laura of Monroe City, MO. Great grand children: Luke Bass, Annalyn Bass, Logan Bass, Willem Keller, Rylie Mulvaney, Skylar Mulvaney, Bechham Bass, Titus Mulvaney, and Trajan Mulvaney. Also survived by sister Lelah Siever of Carlyle and sister in laws Vivian Petrea of Iuka, Arletha Petrea of Salem, and Nora (Petrea) Graham of Kansas.
