Howard Glenn Reynolds, Sr.

Loving Husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Howard “Glenn” Reynolds 80 of Centralia went to be with the Lord at 6:15 A.M. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at his home in Centralia. Mr. Reynolds was born December 10, 1932 in Sandoval, son of John and Ada Anna (Nettles) Reynolds. He married Mary Alice Wilkerson on September 24, 1955 in Salem and she survives and resides in Centralia. In addition to his wife, Mr. Reynolds is survived by four sons: Howard Glen Reynolds, Jr., Ivan Eugene Reynolds and companion Janet Lee Marks, Rodney LeRoy Reynolds and wife Victoria, Michael Lee Reynolds, Sr. and companion Amanda White all of Centralia; two brother-in-laws: Norval “Pat” Ghere of Brighton and Gene Gigar of Kinmunday; a sister-in-law: Lucille Reynolds of Martinsville, Illinois; a brother: Ivan Dale Reynolds and wife Janice of Odin; thirteen grandchildren: Rev. Troy Glen Reynolds and wife Kayla of Olney, Matthew Scott Reynolds and special friend Erica Marcum of Centralia; Jessica Maryann Bushue of Centralia, Ivan Dewayne Reynolds of Centralia, Ronald Marion Reynolds of Centralia, Andrea Rae Hall and husband Buddy of Centralia, Rodney Scott Reynolds of Sandoval, Whitney Marie Reynolds and companion Emanuel Alvira of Vero Beach, Florida, Michael Lee Reynolds, Jr. and special friend Nicole Clifford of Centralia, Cody William Reynolds of Centralia, Hannah Maryjo Reynolds of Centralia, Valerie Nicole Reynolds of Centralia and Cameron James Reynolds of Centralia; eight step-grandchildren: Shannon Heard and wife Sarah of Salem, Michael Barnhart of Centralia, Wyatt Barnhart and wife Bonnie of Alabama, Cody Lange and Kelly Lange both of Brownstown and Shane White of Vandalia; eight great-grandchildren: Jalayna Claries Reynolds, Jalyn Elizabeth Reynolds, Josiah David Reynolds all of Olney, Aiden Matthew Reynolds of Centralia, Brayden Lee Deed, Emanuel Xavior Alvira and Isaiah Antonio Alvira all of Vero Beach, Florida and Madilyn Renee Hall of Centralia; five step-great-grandchildren: Samantha Hoard, Cameron Heard of Kinmundy, Isaac Patton, Felicity Barnhart and Payton Barnhart of Centralia; special nephew: Randall Engler and wife Nita of Odin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Howard Glen Reynolds II and three brothers: Dean Reynolds and wife Dorothy, Paul Reynolds and wife Neva and Bill Reynolds; four sisters: Rosa Miller and husband Harry, Fern Meredith and husband Kenny, Reva Crain and husband Carl, Alice Gigar, Ruth Engler and husband, Russell and Carol Ghere of Brighton, Illinois. Mr. Reynolds attended the House of Hope Church in Patoka. He retired from the Corps of Engineer as a heavy duty diesel mechanic and also worked for Bryan Manor, Frazier Manor and Friendship House. Mr. Reynolds served in the U.S. Army for two years. He enjoyed remodeling houses and spending time with his family. Funeral Services for Howard “Glen” Reynolds, Sr. will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Troy Glenn Reynolds and Pastor Michael Flemming officiating. Interment will follow at Sandoval Cemetery in Sandoval. Military Honors will be conducted at the gravesite by VFW Post 2055 and the American Legion Post 446. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Silver Street Pentecostal Church in Olney, Illinois or to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, which is in charge of arrangements.
