Gary K. Stinnett

Gary K. Stinnett age 72, of Carlyle passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, Missouri. He was born May 12, 1942 in McLeansboro, son of Utah C. Stinnett and Lorene (Richards) Stinnett. He married Margie (Neff) Stinnett on November 1, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Lorene Stinnett of Roseburg, OR; four sons: Gary Stinnett, Jr. and wife Megan of Florence Alabama.; Steven Stinnett of Carlyle; Daniel Stinnett and wife Angie of Carlyle Jerod Stinnett and fiancée April Rainey of Carlyle; nine grandchildren: Haley Stinnett, Austin Stinnett, Laine Stinnett, Brittany Stinnett, Nicholas Stinnett, Emily Stinnett, Jacob Stinnett, Ethan Stinnett and Dylan Stinnett; one great-granddaughter, Zoey; six brothers and seven sisters: Shirley Parr of Roseburg, OR, Brenda Mansfield of Tumwater, WA, Brent Stinnett of Poulsbo, WA, Bruce Stinnett of Sutherlin, OR, JoAnn Green of Arlington, WA, Janie Stinnett of Roseburg, OR, Tony Stinnett of Roseburg, Richard Stinnett of Sutherlin, OR, Tressia Stinnett of Roseburg, OR, Tamara Lovas of Auburn, WA, Mark Stinnett of Sutherlin, OR, Mary McBride of McKinney, TX, Greg Stinnett of Sutherlin, OR, and Matthew Stinnett of Sutherlin, OR; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Margie. Gary was a foreman for a silo company and he then owned his own silo business, where be built silos and grain bins all over southern Illinois. He worked as a truck driver and later retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Carlyle and a member of the V.F.W. Men’s Auxiliary in Carlyle. He enjoyed wood working and hunting. He most of all loved spending time with his family and friends. Per Mr. Stinnett’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
