Carol Ann Green

Carol Ann Phillips Green, 79, returned peacefully to her heavenly home on November 21, 2019. Her loving husband, Jim, family and caregivers were by her side. Carol Ann was born on a summer day August 13, 1940 in her family home on Walnut Hill Road to W. Lyman and S. Lucille Owensby Phillips. She married James Robert Green on January 17, 1959 who survives her in Centralia. Carol Ann was a bookkeeper for Consolidated Water Services and several local water districts most of her life. She also worked as an IBM key card operator for Brown Shoe company in St. Louis and Ziegler corporation in Centralia. She loved all the history and happenings of her small town rural community and most of all the friendliness of everyone. She was an avid collector who enjoyed chatting with shopkeepers as much as the treasures found. She adored gardening and fishing trips where she could always be found with a book in her hand. She was a doting and playful grandmother. Carol Ann is survived also by her loving sister, Barbara Nelms, of Walnut Hill; sons Tim (Sandy) and Jason (Carrie) Green of Centralia, daughter Julie (Steve) Dixon of Matlacha, Fl; grandchildren Tabitha (George) Jentsch of Irvington, James Kern, Daniel and Steven Dixon of Syracuse, Ny, Carson, Cooper and Cobie Green of Centralia, Rahkeim and Tyron Anderson of Marion; a great granddaughter Madisyn Jentsch of Irvington. Carol Ann was predeceased by her parents. Heartfelt thanks go to the staff of Residential Health Hospice, our wonderful private caregivers, Carrie Green, Barb Nelms, John and Carol Sue Green and family, Betty Davis, Dorothy Ray Cutler, and all who were so instrumental in supporting Jim to provide homecare for his wife. Funeral Services for Carol Ann Green will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Father Dale Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
