Betty L Suey

Betty Suey, 94, of Centralia, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at Centralia Manor. Betty was born April 30, 1926 in Centralia, the daughter of John Stonecipher and Ida (Thurston) Stonecipher. She married James Suey on November 4, 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2000. She is survived by her daughter: Brenda Grable and husband Jim of Centralia, she is also survived by a brother: Oren “Buddy” Stonecipher of Bethalto; brothers-in-law: David Suey of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Fred Suey and wife Karen of Oconee, Illinois, and Bishop Thomas Suey and wife Debe of Herrick, Illinois; two sisters-in-law: Joyce Ubbenga of Hartsburg, Illinois and Wanda Suey of Nashville, Tennessee; a special niece and nephew: Jalayna Kaemmerlen and Robbie Trainor; great niece and nephews: Alexandra Kaemmerlen, Nathan Kammerlen and Nick Kammerlen; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Ida Stonecipher, her husband: James Suey, five brothers: Everett Stonecipher, Ralph Stonecipher, Logan Stonecipher, Bill Stonecipher and Donald Stonecipher, and two sisters: Beulah Snider and Barbara Trainor. Betty worked at the Hollywood Candy Factory, Illinois Bell and as an Evangelist for the United Pentecostal Church. Betty was a member the of First Apostolic Church in Centralia for 76 years, where she taught Sunday School and Betty and her husband always enjoyed helping with the Youth Group. She also enjoyed cooking and reading. Betty cherished the time she spent with her daughter and favorite son-in-law, family and church family. Private Funeral Services for Betty Suey will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.
